Ever crave for mysteries that are so out of this world that it gives you the creeps whenever you think of it? Or perhaps would you rather indulge in twisted psychological thrills that just gives you a mind-orgasm? I may have the perfect scene for those of you wonderful intricate minds out there.

This show has been around for quite some time and it has produced six amazing seasons for you to just gorge on. The series itself is produced from an amazing award-winning novel - Dexter Morgan. Yes the name of this awesome series is Dexter :)



On a lazy Saturday afternoon, I was just starting on my coffee-break-cum-television-watching. But alas, my mind was just sick of the mundane afternoon programs that somehow haunts my capacity to think. However, sitting along the lines of 9gag and epicfail websites, I found myself stumbling upon a piece of astounding television series... And after reading the synopsis on Wikipedia.. The genre of this particular show just clicked with a part of my twisted mind: Crime drama, Suspense, Psychological thriller, Mystery.... It seemed like a pretty good deal to worked my mind on such areas not like watching Jersey Shore (not that I do.. I hate that show to bits.. Yuck.) So I embarked on a new journey knowing that my dearest C.S.I still has a long way before producing the next episode.

The first episode was something like a trial run - it is essential in seeing how the producers laid out the plot, characters, schemes and whatnot. Being a person who is really particular what sort of shows I let myself enjoy, I find the first episode already so engaging. It pilots off with Dexter narrating how he is different from everybody, holding a deep dark secret that none can comprehend. Yet he doesn't disclose much about himself .. Not yet... And later on in the episode, you find yourself being drawn in to this Dexter character and everything he does is being laid out in front of your eyes: letting the audience sympathize his every actions even more. It is something that was very well brought out and I was simply impressed.

For those of you who doesn't want any spoilers, I suggest you skip this particular paragraph :) anyways Dexter is a man of science working as a blood splatter analyst at Miami Police Division. Yet being brought up by an adoptive father, who was a cop too, Dexter was haunted by some dark urges to kill.. Thus his father decided to develop his urges in a direction of which he sees fit.. As such, Dexter was not only compelled to become a top forensic scientist.. He was also pushed into becoming a justified serial killer.. Why I say "justified"? It's because he only kills criminals who has escaped the law or revert back to their dark unlawful paths. But that is not the only aspect which makes me adore this show: it was how Dexter plans his serial killings and how he covered his tracks that just blows my mind. In addition, his inability to love or feel emotions all form part of his demented personality. Yet, he was still portrayed as a seemingly charming guy with a beautiful girlfriend, whose children adores him so, and a sister who idolizes him till no end. Being able to juggle his usual life working for the law and dating his wonderful girlfriend, and his deep dark life of killing people and keeping a sample of their blood as a arduous vigilante, Dexter proves to be a character with tremendous capabilities.

So for all my readers out there, I definitely would recommend this series to anyone who loves to jolt their mind here and there once in a while.. But bear in mind that this show is only suited for those 18 and above as coupled with its psychological traumatic plot, there are quite a few adult scenes to heightened the entire storyline. Rest assure, this is not porn, but a true feast for those who craves for mysteries. In addition, the show never fails to twist and turn the plot in ways you have never imagined and at the same time, mix it with innocent jokes that you can enjoy :)
