" A blank of white silence filled the land - with its serenity engulfing all. "
And so I went to visit my grandfather after his operation yesterday. I went along with my younger brother and Baby. Took a quick bus ride there and my mother was already there.
My grandfather was put in another ward which had better all-rounded care. When we entered the ward, all I could hear was the beeping of the heart-monitor which rather spooked me out. And there laid my grandfather sleeping. My grandma gently woke him up to tell him of our arrival. He seemed pretty happy to see us, but he was too weak to smile, he just had a slight grin and he tried to reach out for our hands, but he couldn't really move. We just saw his hand trembling. My grandfather tried to talk to us too, but he was just so exhausted and weak that he could only mumble his words, which Joel and I had to lean in really close to listen to what he had to say. Just seeing him like this made my heart really ached. I was quite emotional throughout the entire visit. We asked how he was doing, he said that he was alright: the operation was a success but his stomach ached quite a lot when he coughed. We didn't stay long because he probably needed a lot of rest, so we just stayed in there for a while, asking about his day before we left.
The five of us - Grandmother, mother, Joel, Baby and I sat outside just resting in front of the television talking about my grandfather's situation. Apparently, he can only be discharged 2 weeks later. And it was quite sad that we couldn't celebrate his birthday today. My mother told me not to buy his birthday cake or buy him any flowers because he was quite depressed - since he would be reminded of his inability to celebrate his birthday properly as a family.
So my grandmother planned that perhaps after he got discharged and was feeling much better, then we could give him a surprise birthday celebration at home. :) I'm really revved up for it.
I think after this experience of seeing how much my grandfather has suffered through without giving up, and the strength of my grandmother's love, has really led me to appreciate my grandparents more. It has really been a touching and emotional journey for my entire family and it has really brought all of us together. It is really through God's grace, that everything has worked out so well in the end. I hope you guys will continue praying for my grandfather's speedy recovery and that he will be as strong (or even stronger) as before :) Thank you all so much and God bless! :D
So anyways, let me end with something more heart-lifting :) Today Baby surprised me with a little gift. Well, it has been something which I am yearning to learn since Baby has been pushing me to do so ... MAKE-UP! LOL.
Can anyone guess what brand this is? LANCOME~ Heehee. And it comes as a travel-pack make-up which is perfect since I'm going overseas for a long time too. LOL. Just hope I can get the grasp of it before I go overseas :) Heehee. I'm really appreciative of my darling Baby for being supportive and encouraging no matter what I do :) Heehee. Thank you so much Baby! :D I love you so much, even though I don't really show (cause I'm so busy with Alevels), but I want you to know, that in my heart, you are always the first man for me :)
So anyways, that is all I've for today. Hahahaha.
Toodles~ :)
