One faithful day, my mother suddenly burst into my room, and told me that there was this online shop which was setting up a collection of branded items at Mandarin Hotel Orchard. At first I was just like "eh" ... but somehow on that day itself, I was an entirely different person.
Well actually, her main plan was to attend a fun fair in which the private school she was teaching at was organizing. That fun fair was held just outside Takashimaya, which was not far from the luxury collection. So we headed out to check out their collection first before heading for the fun fair.
My bf tagged along as well. My bf is known to be one guy who doesn't splurge on himself unless he has his eyes set on a particular target. One such example was when he started eyeing this particular pen from Mont Blanc. And after he accomplished certain goals he had set for himself, he would reward himself by buying that pen. And so on and so forth. So most of his spendings would be on items he had targeted for quite some time. Unlike me, who is a very impulsive buyer. However on that day itself, he too was an entirely different person. He saw this pair of Prada shoes and he immediately fell in love with it ... He quickly got his size and paid for it straight away. I was quite surprised. I thought my mother and I were the ones who would be all ga-ga over the collection, but my bf seemed the most enthusiastic about it.
After looking through the collection of Chanel, Prada, Coach, Gucci etc etc, I was itching to buy a new Prada wallet: this one was a sleek black wallet which seemed to be made from a plastic material. Other than the material it was made in, it was somewhat similar to my current Prada wallet. So after debating for a loooonnnngggg time, I decided not to get it :( My mother too was quite picky this time. She looked through the collection time and time again, but could not find a particular item she fancied. My bf then took the initiative and brought my attention to this particular pair of ballerina shoes which was so beautiful I was literally taken by it. It was Prada, and the material was so smooth and comfortable, I just had to get it. There were a pair of black and red ones, and in the end I chose red: it seemed more sophisticated and unique, compared to the black pair.
I had no idea why, but I was so attracted to their Prada collection. I wanted to buy the frilly Prada tote, but my bf kept telling me it looked weird/ugly. So I just kept my sights away from it. Then this particular tote caught my eye. It seemed rather different from the rest of the Prada classics and I wanted it straight away. As the bag did not have the Prada logo stamped right on the front, I thought it was a great bag to bring to school. Plus it was spacey enough to put my books and stationery for school. Unlike my previous tote, which was small and quite compact. It could only hold my makeup bag, my handphone, a notebook, and my portable charger, making it more like a tote for outings or dinners. But I still loved that tote so much because it was a Christmas gift from my darling bf. I was quite torn apart with my decisions with the Prada tote and the Moschino tote ... and I spent a freaking half an hour to come to a final decision: which was the Prada tote. Oh, how I splurge on myself ... What a sin D:
These were the ballerina pumps I was talking about: aren't they just gorgeous? I am just swoon by their utter cuteness!! :)
And here is my new schoolbag! It does look spacey doesn't it! :D *squeals* the material is just so nice to touch! I kept stroking it because it felt too comfortable to be put down. Haha.
In the end, I was really happy with my purchase and the three of us proceeded to the fun fair. We saw Rexaz performing there, and it was quite a treat :) My bf also met up with his old gusto buddy in which the two of them chatted up for a really long time. The fun fair was filled with games, food and just a few flea stands. Ohmygosh, they also had a pony ride! OMG, my bf and I were dying to ride the pony, but I told the bf that the pony would die halfway through the journey of carrying him, considering how much weight he had gained the past week. Hahaha :P In the end, we did not ride the pony because they had this LONG line of children waiting in excitement.
We bought a few cookies, a few items from the flea market and lots of food for the hungry bf. Hahahaha. You could see him spamming fishballs down his throat. We waited around for the lucky draw which was a funny moment, because normally lucky draws would only have three prizes, but for this fun fair, they had at least 30 prizes for the crowd. We were getting so exhausted waiting for them to announce everything so we left halfway.
We proceeded to my bf's office as he had to grab something from there, and then we went to Plaza Singapura as I wanted to check out JRunway which was a huge hit in Singapore. My mother wanted to buy a few jewellery pieces there as Christmas presents, but she changed her mind at the end. The clothing there were really pretty and I was really attracted to the EMODA pile, however I did not buy anything because after spending a huge bomb at the Luxury Collections, I would feel more guilty if I splurged on myself again on clothes. But I really do recommend those Japan lovers to head to JRunway to have a look-see at their collections: simply fantastic :)
The funniest part of that day was my mother was not intending to splurge much on herself, but when we deciding to head home, we were approached by this man who introduced to us about a few facial products which were shipped over from Israel. Apparently, he specializes in dead sea products in which they used the salt sourced from the dead sea as a main 'formulae' in producing skin care products. I have seen many of such products/shops before in Singapore such as Jericho, but I have to say that this man was particularly persuasive in his advertising. I did try out the products as well, and the effects were really quite astonishing. I have relatively dry skin and as a result, my skin itches a lot resulting in multiple scars on my body. However, after applying this mud-like product, my skin felt revitalized as if I had been basking in moisturiser all day long. It was quite hard to believe actually, but you have to try it to believe it! And I did :)
My mother was also quite amazed at all the anti-ageing products, that she bought so many of those. In the end, she spent A LOT solely on skin-care products. I think it summed up to about 2k, because she also bought a few items for my younger brother who has very sensitive skin which peels and bleeds way too often. Bf bought a few too for himself because he was too mesmerized by the smell of those scented products. But seriously, they do smell heavenly ^^ Even though the price of just one small bottle seemed quite expensive, I still think it is money worth spending, because my skin just feels more like a baby's each time I used it. Simply wonderful.
And that is all I have for one day of ultimate splurging done by all three of us. I thought bf would be the one voice of reason to prevent my mother and I from spending too much, but in the end he was the one who got dragged into the dark delectable side of shopping. Hehheh. It was a fun day overall, we got to splurge on ourselves, we got to eat good food, watch a nice performance done up by Rexaz, and the most important thing was that we all enjoyed each other's company :)
Toodles for now~
