The start of today commences with my mother kicking me out of bed. Yes she did kicked me alright! Hahaha. With a hurried tone, she said that her butter was melting by the minute! And by the term butter - it means that it's high time we start baking the cookies! I got out of bed and quickly did the morning neccessities, grabbed a few slices of Banana Bread and headed my way to the kitchen. Ohyes. I could see my mother had already gotten everything ready; the ingredients, the utensils, everything! Gushing the Banana Bread down with a cup of coffee, I got ready to bake cookies with her. After approximately about 45mins, the dough was ready to be knead into cookies shape! And she taught me how to do it. Since we are making small cookies, we used teaspoons to help us with the dough. And into the oven it went! :)
Omgosh. They are all so mouth-watering!! :) I soooo can't wait to eat them!!! Hahaha. I've always been a fan of my mother's baking since young. She can bake and cook practically almost anything in the world!! Well, that's because my mother is a peranankan, and being from a traditional peranankan, she has to cook, sew, bake and do everything perfectly! That's why she is like talented in so many areas! She loves to bake the most! Because baking gives her the most satisfaction in life :) Heehee. She is never afraid to try out new stuff and just now even when we were baking the cookies, she goes by her own estimation and experience and doesn't follow the recipe. Goes to say that she is really professional in this area :D And as we were kneading the dough just now, she told me that she really hopes to open her own cafe, but she says that opening it in Singapore might be slightly challenging due to the complicated laws and paperwork. She says opening restaurants in China is easier because the land there is cheaper than Singapore and their labour there is cheap too! Hahaha. But opening a cafe there is quite ... troublesome, considering that she has to stay there and stuff like that. So I hope that I can at least support my mother in this area - maybe when I grow up and get a steady job, my first task will be earning enough money for my mother to open her very own cafe/restaurant in Singapore :) Go mummy! And I trust her cooking/baking skills! I know my grandmother will help her as well! :D
So anyways, after the baking, my elder brother is preparing decorations around the house ... the lights, the speakers etc ... haha. Genevieve is helping out as well, but I'm here blogging .. LOL I feel so bad :P HEEHEE. Anyways that's all for today! :)
