Here's another shout-out from 南京: HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Yea I know it's a bit lag but I've had problems connecting my phone to the Internet... Melissa is probably far far away in South Korea enjoying the snow and freezing her ass off as well! I'm really glad we managed to talk to each other through Tumblr(lol how the hell did we manage that you say?) and its miraculously askbox function :P It turns out Melissa has been trying to contact me and I've been trying to enter her tumblr main-page to see what's happening.. But somehow China is really unfriendly so I was stuck at the dashboard without any ways of entering anybody's tumblr homepage.. Including mine! Lol wth. Thank goodness Melissa managed to see that I was on tumblr re-blogging random shit again and contacted me :) She will be in Korea for 1week plus and I'll be back in Singapore before her so I guess it's safe to say that I've already bought souvenirs for her, my family and the rest of my dearest friends too! :) of course I also do receive some "orders" from some of my friends as they know that things here in China are cheaper(with the exception of branded goods like Chanel, Prada, JuicyCouture etc) than those sold in Singapore.
I've had my share of insane shopping here but those shall be left aside as I'm here with the purpose of posting about the New Year! So it's tradition that everybody gets to make a new year's resolution in hopes that it would be fulfilled no matter how long it takes, but somehow those promises are always left brushed aside to a dusty corner. As for me, I just like to get into the good spirit of it all. So here is my list of 2012 resolutions!!!
#01. Be a better girlfriend :)
Baby has been a wonderful boyfriend ever since we met and it somehow struck me that he deserves more than just a girlfriend - he deserves an extremely GOOD girlfriend. One who understands him better, one whom he can share his happiness and sorrows with without the fear of being put down or judged negatively, one who gives him the utmost love and faith etc :) and I plan to make all this come true... Ever since I came back to his hometown, I'm seeing and hearing all his childhood/school friends getting married next year or so. And naturally their blissful emotions were passed down to us as we stared at each other's blank faces hoping to see a glimmer of hope for a future that has the both of us in it :) and we are still working on improving our relationship. This trip has also made me realize that he is one of the most important man in my life.. And that he and his family treat me so well I really feel like a pampered princess. So my dear Baby, if you are seeing this, I promise to be a more matured girlfriend without always having to fuss about minor issues :)
#02. Be a better daughter.
This is another important factor of my life. Seriously, without my family, I don't think I would be so fortunate as of now. To have a father who pampers me so, giving me money whenever I ask for more to shop for things I want/need, without questioning my intent. And despite the stress he has been facing over my siblings and my education, he still finds the time to arrange wonderful holidays in which we get to relax and de-stress. I am under fortunate to have a caring mother who supports my decisions and always smile for me even in my most depressing moments. She also helps to convey kindness and soothing words from my father to my brothers and I, mainly because he is always working, to ensure that we knows our father cares. She has always been the mediator, the healer and the support to hold the family together tight and strong ;) I'm fortunate to have grandparents who always pray for the family and giving wise advices for us foolish youths in times of tribulation. They alone hold forces that keep our family pure and bonded together. They, too, set amazing daily examples in which we youths should follow in step, learning new morals every moment. Of course I am thankful for my siblings for always bringing down the house with their jokes and laughter that never fails to fill the house, enforcing the warmth of the household. In addition, to have siblings who understands your emotions and vice versa is a wonderful thing because I have siblings in whom I can confide in or just have a casual nonsensical blabber :) Therefore I've decided that I should not take my family for granted and be a better daughter in their lives.
#03. Continue my passion for Cheer!
I have not lost my passion for cheer and neither has Baby and Bob. Despite time being constraint, I'm still going to enjoy every training moment I have left with Bob before he goes away for NS - the hell on earth for all Singaporean Men. Hahaha :P Of course Baby still loves cheer as much as he did when he first started out, only he doesn't have the time to engage in such daily gyming sessions, since his work has been picking up ever since the last quarter of last year. Still, he is going to put aside the time for gyms so that he can perform better in trainings. As for me, I will do exactly the same. I'm going to conduct a strict regime of exercising/gyming and cheering for the next few months before my Alvl results are announced officially. Till then, I'll probably be hitting the gym/track more often than before. Something about working out makes me really excited and happy. No idea why, but yea I guess besides being a shopaholic, I'm also an trainaholic. Lol! I've no idea why people always have the misconception that female cheerleaders must be all skin and bones. I admire American cheerleaders because even the females gym every thrice a week along with the males. Only difference is that their regimes do not include such heavy weight-lifting but mostly focus on the abs and leg power to jump. So if you think female cheerleaders should just eat less and diet... You are wrong!!!!! The most important thing is the core!!!!!! No core, that person is not a real cheerleader. Just saying, no offense intended. Even if you think female cheerleaders have no need to gym.. You are dead wrong too!!!! They do need to gym to train their core.. No point just doing Pilates etc.. Even my grandmother can do Pilates... Lol! Oh right, and the next important thing is to get my flexibility right :) last year was such a close call for me being able to finally do a split till Alvls came and Baby told me its best not to stretch just in case I got a cramp in the middle of a paper etc. So I stopped and haven't stretched for a really long time! :( but of course having Baby by my side makes it all better because he has the experience of stretching people to maximize their flexibility(he has a lot of good testimonials! Haha) and he also knows how to maximize a person's potential. :) cheers for me!
#04. Reach God-like in Cooking and Baking! :)
It has been a well-known fact that true peranankans ladies are good cooks and bakers! Since young, they have been trained furiously by their mothers to cook like a world-class chef and thereby developed their senses to be in tune to cooking and baking. Thus my grandmother and mother are really awesome cooks and bakers. They can sense something is not right with just a whiff even if it tastes alright. They also cook by instinct, knowing that to throw into the pot to enhance its taste etc. the same goes for baking, with one look, they know whether the inside of a batter has been well baked or not. My grandfather and father are true living testimonies of how awesome their cooking is.. They used to be skinny, really bone-skinny until they got married ... Slowly their photo-albums tell a true tale of how their stomachs slowly got bigger, knowing that they have been constantly well-fed under their God-like batter. Unfortunately, being a girl of mixed culture, I was not brought up the traditional way. Since young, I was encouraged to read instead of baking.. I was encourage to learn abacus instead of cooking .. So I've absolutely no idea what the frag how to cook or bake. Unlike my elder brother who learns so fast under my mother's watchful eye. He reached a well high standard, in true recognition to be on par with my mother... He has become my mother's rival, waiting for the moment of the student surpassing the master ;( as for me, I'm missing out such fun! Thank goodness my mother still has it in her to pass on a few skills onto me as I took up a bit of baking before Alvls. And I whipped up a nice batch of brownies with her guidance... Thus when I return, I hope to be able to cook and bake without having anyone to guide me ;) and of course making something edible!! My plan is to read cooking/baking books and try to remember by heart the different condiments/spices that makes the taste different :) maybe if I get pro enough, I might be able to open a cafe alongside my elder brother and mother! Haha well my grandmother has stopped cooking for quite some time since my maid arrived, so let her just retire peacefully :D
#05. Help Baby out with his work and strive towards success!
Baby has been really working hard before the holidays and with that, he has managed to meet a lot of successful clients :) with that he started setting money-earning goals for himself ... And it is really amazing he has met all of those goals so far. He has bought a Mont Blanc diamond pen for himself, Prada wallet, bag and money clip etc. And with the new year, he has set yet another goal for himself and being his girlfriend, supporting him alongside is also part of my duty! So I've decided that I should be entire supportive of what he does, thus am thinking of applying as his secretary.. I've noticed that sometimes when he becomes really busy, he will tend to forget about the slightest things. So he should totally need someone like me right!!!! Hahaha :) someone by his side making sure that everything goes according to plan :)
Well other than that, I can't really think of any other goals I want to make for myself.. And if I were to make too many, I might not be able to follow out. So as of now, these shall be my goals. But Plans sometimes deviate from the path you have planned out.. No need to fuss.. I believe that nothing will stay the same forever.. So as long as the goals make one happy and satisfied of one's life then it is more than enough!!! :)
Toodles~
