I've finally found another love besides Cheerleading ...
AND it is none other than ........................
FREE RUNNING! :)
Hahaha.
Many people will think that parkour and free running are the same .. BUT IT IS NOT!
Surprised? Yea, me too.
Apparently parkour conditions the body and mind to overcome physical obstacles using efficiency and speed - in a way it is adapting one's body movements to the environment and using the surroundings to their advantage.
Free running on the other hand was inspired from Parkour, and it incorporates efficient movements from Parkour and adds lots of gymnastic movements here and there. But the main difference is that free running embodies complete freedom of body movements including many acrobatic maneuvers.
Both may seem to encompass similar physical challenges and building of one's body movement, but the mindset of how these two sports came about is totally different.
And well, I think free running suits my character/personality more as it emphasizes self-development by 'following your own way', something like charting your own course.
PLUS! Free running is like a more challenging gymnastic sport which I'm hoping I can integrate myself into as soon as Alevels end.
I already love running a lot, and to add on gymnastics to it and add, makes it even more challenging and fun! :D
Well, before I can start the actual free running itself, I've to train both stamina and gymnastic capabilities.
Thank goodness I already have a somewhat good stamina after I tried running 5km last night. Heehee. And I have Cheer to help me develop a more flexible and in-tuned body for gymnastics. All in all, I've got to train my mental capability because I'm like any typical Singaporean - I'M SCARED OF DYING. Hahahaha :P Bleh.
But other than that, I hope I can find another person who is interested in free running as well, because it is like damn fun to free run around the neighborhood like it is your personal playground. Heehee. And another plus point is that it is a super great fun way to stay in shape! :D SO why not?!?!?!?! :D:D:D:D:D
For those who are interested in Free Running or just want to see what it's like, here is a video I found on youtube.
CLICKY HERE!
It's about a Free Running Academy called Tempest and it shows like the various acrobatic stunts the people do while running etc etc ... It's super cool and how I wished they could establish one of those academies here in Singapore. That would be just super awesome! The people in there are all professionals, so no one should follow what they are doing at home as it is dangerous to do those stunts without proper facilities/supervision.
Enjoy the video! All credits goes to Tempest Free Running Academy :)
