" ROLLER COASTER BABY ."
UNIVERSAL STUDIOS SINGAPORE. Ahhh, no .. that is not how it looks like in that picture, but I can't find a picture of a theme park that looks as awesome as that one. So .. yea. ANYWAYS, Baby and I were supposed to wake up at 8am and get ready to leave by 9am ... BUT, I woke up at like 5am+ and couldn't go back to sleep, so I continued watching the episodes of CSI Las Vegas which I paused from last night :) Of course I watched till 8am, when I went to wake Baby up, but he made some really funny kid's noises whenever their mothers asked them to wake up. Haha yes he did that! And he asked me for 5 more minutes. Why do I feel like his mother??? :P So I went back and continued watching my CSI till Baby woke up by himself. Hahaha, I always lose track of time whenever I watch CSI. We went off to bathe and changed and we got ready at 9am because I bathed REALLY long, especially if I'm getting ready to go somewhere special. Heehee. We had our breakfast and left around 9.15am and we were on our wayyyyyyyyyyyy!! Wheesss (:
We reached Vivo City around 10.05am and by the time we were on the Sentosa Trail, it was around 10.15am and Baby was SOOOOO excited at wanting to sit at the most awesome attraction of Universal Studios that he was practically running once we alighted at Resorts World Sentosa. Hahaha it was super fun to see him so excited. AND his enthusiasm was super contagious, I was quite hyped up by him! Hahaha. We dashed to the entrace of Universal Studios and skipped all the other attractions and we just 冲all the way to the MAIN ATTRACTION - The BattleStar Galactica roller coaster!! They had two different roller coasters/rides ... a 'human' side and a 'cylon' side. If you watched the show, both sides are like sworn enemies and they are fighting against one another - which they based the roller coaster about. And the coolest thing they did was to have two different type of roller coasters on it. The 'human' side was on the red track and it is the normal kind of roller coaster where you sit in a 'carriage' and get thrown about in it. The 'cylon' side was on the blue track and it is quite different as your legs practically dangle out in the open. Yea, it's a suspension seat. That means you can full view of the scenery below :) Once seated, both rides will launch at the same time, so it kind of emphasizes on the battle between the two different races. Baby and I 冲for the 'human' side after putting our bags in the locker. Guess what? We did not have to queue! HAHA. And we were the first few to sit on that ride. Unfortunately, we didn't get the first row, but heck! :P The roller coaster starts with a hill-climb (like DUH! to build up momentum!) and at first it seems quite slow, then half way through the hill-climb, it will suddenly pick up A HELL LOT OF SPEED and practically rush you down the FREAKING STEEP SLOPE. Hahahahaha. I screamed like mad at first because it was unexpected and really sudden and I felt like my heart was going to jump out of my chest. Then followed by a whole lots of ups and downs. Sitting on this for the first time is definitely a heart-popper, but after the first time, you will feel that it is a typical roller coaster ride - nothing really special about it. THEN, Baby and I rushed to the 'cylon' ride (the blue track). Indeed, with my feet dangling in mid-air with nothing to step on, I have no sense of security at all. So once again the ride starts off with a slow hill-climb, speeding up half way and throwing you into a steep slope right after the climb. BUT WAIT! There is a HUGE difference with the 'cylon' ride :D This ride makes you go UPSIDE-DOWN. Not only once, not only twice, BUT 3 TIMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ohgosh... Hahaha it was super awesome. I was screaming my guts out at first but ... the second ride (Baby got addicted after the first ride haha) was JUST AWESOME :D It's like this ride has a lot of unexpected twist, just when you thought you were done, they surprise you with another loop-the-loop, and you screammmmmm! Hahaha :D And there was this part of the ride where they will go super low, into a trench, seeming as if you are like SUPER close to the ground, making you freak out, but trust me, it is perfectly safe. Heehee.
GUESS WHERE WE WENT NEXT?! It starts with a letter 'M' and end with a 'Y' ... 'MUMMY'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes the MUMMY ride!! :D:D:D Teri and Melissa has been telling me so much about this ride when they went to USS last year and I have been dying to hear about it because Teri said it was just superb. Baby also loved the 'Mummy' ride (before the Battlestar ride finally opened LOL) and he was really excited about it too. But the funny thing was that when you enter the entrance of the ride, you have to walk a super long way till you reach the carriages. I guess that's because the ride was an indoor ride and it had to take up a really wide area since height is an issue. We were one of the few again and my first time riding this was really funny because I was practically staring at the ceiling, as I was quite scared they will dangle a mummy from above and scare the shit out of me. Hahahaha. The 'Mummy' Ride is a HUGE recommend as well as it sort of involves 4D and a movie-styled roller coaster. It's like you are sitting in a carriage, but it makes you think that you are sitting in a mine cart, exploring the ruins of an ancient pyramid. The movie part is mainly due to the visual effects they show you. It's like they have people talking and stuff as you go along with the ride and they will even stop the ride and suddenly go backwards because there is an obstacle ahead. When there is fire, you can feel the heat too .. so it's really more like a sit-touch-feel experience. Of course there is ups and downs too, but its in a SUPER dark area with scaring lighting at various parts, making it more in suspense which = more FUN! HAHA :) Anyways, after the 'Mummy' Ride, Baby wanted to sit in the BattleStar ride again. Unfortunately, after riding 3 times, Baby wanted to go a fourth time, but it went under technical maintenance. Super lucky we rode quite a few times :) But Baby and my hair were like blown out of place, so he had to re-style it.
We took our bags from the lockers and went to see other rides, hoping that the BattleStar Galactica ride would be fixed when we get back :) The next ride we sat on was Accelerator. I remembered a ride like this in Genting once, and I thought it was super fun, because when I sat it with Joshua, we came out shaking. Hahah :P Sadly, it was quite a disappointment. The Accelerator ride is those spinning teacups which spin at super high velocity .. well that is what I thought, but the USS version is SLOW and not exciting enough. So after coming down from A SUPER EXHILARATING RIDE, Baby and I were just dumbfounded at this ride. After this ride, we went to backtrack to the entrance where we carefully examined the other attractions and took pictures :D Hahaha. We went by the Madagascar part of the theme park and it was mainly kiddy rides, seeing animal dancing and a carousel, so Baby and I skipped on to the next part which was the Shrek section! OMG. I LOVE SHREK! :) Heehee. I've watched all the 4 movies of Shrek and loved them all. Heehee. Baby said that the 4D Shrek Movie is a once in a lifetime opportunity so we went in. At first, you will see a short movie (non 4D) about how Lord Farquad plotted his revenge as a ghost on Shrek and Fiona (watch the first Shrek movie to get a better understanding) and used the audience as torture bait. That is when we had to move to the auditorium where the 4D movie started. Ohgosh, it was SUPER AWESOME. Hahaha. 4D is somewhat like 3D, you will see that most of the objects in the movie seem like they are poking near you and it enhances the whole viewing pleasure because it integrates you into a movie and not just a flat screen. 4D is different in a sense that they let you FEEL what is happening in the movie. For example, when Donkey sneeze, you will feel water spraying at you like as if Donkey was sneezing on you. Hahaha :) Sounds super cool right? WELL HELL YEA IT IS :D The seats will even move too! Heehee
After that really amazing movie experience, Baby and I walked on to the Jurassic Park section where we stopped by for a quick lunch at the Food Court. I ate Hainanese Chicken Rice while Baby ate his Laksa again. LOL. The food is like super expensive there - costs about $10.50 a plate and I bought a cup of Iced Peach Tea which was like $3.50!!!! D: Hahaha. Anyways, we continued on and sat on some of the kiddy rides too! It was not all that HEART-BLOWING like BattleStar or The Mummy, but it was still quite fun. Baby was groaning about the fact that I didn't allow him to sit on the wet rides because I didn't want to get wet and getting wet in the middle of day is REALLY uncomfortable, especially when the water is mixed with your own perspiration. Ohgosh. And I convinced him not to sit on them. Perhaps next time when we brought extra clothes :D So right on, there and there, we continued walking and we walked straight back into BattleStar attraction and guess what? They fixed it back!! How awesome is that?! Heehee. So Baby and I went to ride on the LOOP-LOOP (cylon) and OMG, we got into the first row. LIKE HOLY SHIT. Every row can accomodate 4 people at maximum and at first it was just Baby and I in the first row, how scary can that be?! Hahaha. But then one Caucasian joined us and I had an empty seat beside me. This time the roller coaster was like more viewer-friendly as I could see the tracks in front of us. Hahaha. And it totally enhanced the heart-popping part, but it was still cool nevertheless. Baby was SUPER elated when we got the first row. Hahaha what are the odds of him getting the first row on his most favourite ride of the whole theme park :P Ohright, we also got the first row for the 'Mummy' Ride too and Baby thought of something SUPER fun! He knew when the camera was going to snap pictures of us during the ride so he told me when to make a funny face and we did! After the rides we rushed down to the booth to see how we looked like and it was just hilarious. Even the person at the booth was laughing at our funny faces. Not to mention, how the others at the back will duck their heads under the shoulders of the person sitting beside them and some of them had the 0.0 look. Eyes widened, mouth gaping huge - making the look on their face super priceless :P And Baby and I were the only two making funny faces at the camera.
We went about our favourite rides for a few times before it started raining :( Bummer. But at least we fully maximized our FUN-METER :D Heehee. Ohyea, another thing Baby and I found out... Whenever we rode on the BattleStar Galactica for a few times, the thing would go under maintenance.. so we wondered whether we had anything to do with it ............. hmmmmz :P Ohyes, another attraction I found marvelous was the introduction to Steven Spielberg's Special Effects Show. In the first room, the person will introduce Steven to us and then showed us a clip of which Steven himself starred in it, where he shared how special effects such as sound effects, lightning effects etc affect our emotions in the story. Then the next room was more like a mini-movie set where they had props set up to make it a pier. Then the television at the far end started broadcasting a news bulletin about a hurricane arriving, then the props starting moving and they had sound effects, lighting effects and even water-waves effect to emphasize the whole hurricane hitting the pier effect. Of course there was a splash zone which I managed to evade nicely because Baby and I were in the first row splash area. Heehee, actually I just hid behind him. Hahaha :P We made sure that we finishing riding all our most loved rides and got the best out of our money before we headed out of Universal Studios as it was raining and we didn't want to get caught in the rain. Hahaha :) Baby didn't want to take any pictures of the moving celebrity figures look-alike, because I kept saying that the guy in the warrior suit was super hot with his 6packs and all :) Heehee. Oh yea and there was this souvenir shop with crazy hats and Baby wanted to play dress-up! And he did so many funny poses with different hats and he was really amused by it all ...... kinds of make me wonder whether he really is 24 years old this year ... :P
At around 5pm+, we decided to make our way back to Vivo City. GUESS WHAT?! So did like a few hundred people too and we had to practically queue to sit on the Sentosa Rail back to Vivo. How lame is that?! And not only that, I'm guessing that we have to queue for at least close to one hour considering how small the cabins are and the HUGE quantity of people just simply overwhelms me. So Baby had an idea of taking the other tram which headed to the beach instead of heading back to Vivo as the queue was WAYYYY SHORTER. And at the beach station, we alighted and headed to the tram opposite us and we were one of the first few to get back to Vivo! :) Heehee my Baby is super smart. Baby was quite tired after a LONG day of roller-coaster rides and crazy loopies, so we decided to head back to Tampines. Thank goodness we had seats in the train, but I can tell that one woman was not happy about it because I sort of helped Baby 'reserved' the seat and she was just ticked off. Lalalala~ Back at Tampines, I had KFC for dinner while Baby just munched on my cheese fries :( and we head back home from there. I wanted to share my USS experience with my parents, but they already fell asleep ... so BUMMER!!!! :S Anyways, I just started to upload my pictures which is taking a SUPER LONG TIME because the pictures' resolution are so DARN HIGH .. but that's good, makes the picture more worth it. Hahaha.
Heehee, and here are some of the pictures we took at the USS. Mind you, I'm not posting up all the pictures because it is going to kill me .. but you can look at the album called
Universal Studios on my Facebook page :) Heehee.
So that's the end of my most exciting Valentine's Day ever!! :) Heehee.
Before ending this blogspot, here is a little note for my Dearest Baby:
Dear Chen Cheng, thank you for such a wonderful, amazing day at the Universal Studios. I really had lots of fun screaming and laughing my heart out on those exhilarating rides, indeed, this is an experience of a lifetime. You were so excited to sit on the BattleStar Galactica ride that you almost freaked me out because I was quite unprepared at first, but it was worth it! This is my first time attending a Theme Park with a person I love so much (other than my family) and I will definitely treasure this memory for as long as I live. Seeing you so excited about sitting on those high-velocity, hair-raising roller coasters makes my heart melts, seeing you act like a little kid, wanting to go again and again and again. I am really glad that my boyfriend is a outgoing person, who DARES to try out new things, not like a coward. This day was like a dream - thank you for accommodating my every wants and needs during the entire trip and you have been a real gentleman, protecting me and making sure that I had maxed out my fun. I just want you to know that I love you so much and I thank you for such a wonderful Valentine's Day present. Even though it is slightly early, but I still loved it. Thank you Baby, and Happy Valentine's Day, I love you ♥
